Improve The Connectivity Of Your Canon C500 Mark II Camera
The Canon EU-V1 Expansion Unit 1 is mounted onto your Canon C500 Mark II camera and delivers improved connectivity, increasing the proficiencies of the Canon C500 camera for remote action as well as live video production.
The expansion unit adds three ports;
- Ethernet
- Remote B (RS-422)
- Genlock/Sync Out
The Ethernet port lets you link your Canon C500 camera to a LAN for control and live streaming applications. The Remote B port lets you control your Canon C500 camera using RS-422 protocol. The Genlock/Sync Out port takes a genlock signal that slaves your camera to the same time base as the other gear getting the genlock signal. Sync Out lets your Canon C500 camera feed other live production gear to sync to your camera. Genlock is the mainstay of live/broadcast production as it warrants that all the switchers, cameras and production equipment are running in phase with each other. This avoids jumping images or black frames when swapping amongst sources. The ports have rubber covers to guard the connectors from dust invasion when not being utilised.
