Large elements including three XA (extreme aspherical) elements manufactured using original techniques ensure high corner-to-corner resolution at F2 throughout the zoom range. Floating focus allows close focus down to 0.38 m/1.25 ft throughout the zoom range.

Chromatic aberration controlled

One ED (extra-low dispersion) element and three Super ED elements reduce axial chromatic aberration as well as lateral chromatic aberration that can reduce resolution at the image periphery.

Colour bleeding is effectively suppressed throughout the image area for exemplary overall clarity and resolution.

Resistant to flare and ghosting

Sony’s original Nano AR Coating II minimises flare/ghosting, making it possible to shoot clear images even in strong backlighting.
