The Sony FE 16-25mm G Master lens is a compact full-frame F2.8 wide-angle zoom, an excellent match for a-series Sony bodies, with advanced technology ensuring that body performance is fully realized from ultra-wide 16mm to wide 25mm focal lengths.

Sitting at roughly the same size as the 24-50mm F/2.8 G, this compact form-factor both reduces chromatic abberation and makes the lens easy to handle. Featuring two internal linear motors, the lens focusses up sharply and quickly, while staying fully compatible with the a9 III’s 120 fps video mode.

The aperture ring is de-clickable and the lens also features a fully customizable focus hold button on the side of the unit. This highly portable lens is both the smallest and lightest constant F/2.8 zoom lens that Sony has released to date.

This lens incorporates advanced optical technology to deliver exceptional image quality across the entire frame. By incorporating three Extra-Low Dispersion (ED) elements and four aspherical lenses (including one ED aspherical lens), the lens design effectively minimizes various optical aberrations.

The FE 16-25mm F2.8 G excels in video performance, ensuring smooth and precise focusing even when shooting high-frame-rate videos such as 4K120p or FHD240piii. The lens is equipped with linear response manual focus (MF), allowing videographers to make precise focus adjustments with ease. Additionally, it supports in-body Active Mode Image Stabilizationiv and Focus Breathing to optimize video capture.
