Description

AJA FS1-X is the next evolution in frame synchronisation and conversion.

Within its small 1RU chassis,

the AJA FS1-X incorporates an incredible assortment of audio and video connectivity and processing,

including 64- and 56-channel MADI audio over:

  • Fiber;
  • Or coax.

With its adaptable architecture,

the AJA FS1-X employs a motion adaptive,

high-quality linear Frame Rate Converter for smooth motion conversion

amongst a broad assortment of frame rates whether for:

  • Live events;
  • Production;
  • Or broadcast.

High-Quality Conversion

AJA’s hardware conversion technology confirms the greatest image quality for your productions.

Key conversion features include:

  • SD/SD aspect ratio conversion
  • SD/HD up, down-conversion
  • HD/HD cross-conversion (720p/1080i)
  • HD cross-conversion with concurrent down-converted SDI output
  • Cross, down, up-conversion with both the input and converted formats on SD/HD SDI outputs (both synchronised)
  • Automatic Reverse Telecine detection and removal
  • AFD conversion or pass-through (user-selectable)
  • Closed Caption conversion (CEA-608/CEA-708 standards)

Massive Audio Adaptability

The increase of 7.1 and 5.1 audio has expanded the number of audio channels that must be managed in a production.

The MADI specification offers a useful way to transport huge numbers of audio channels along a single cable,

streamlining the cabling requirements for:

  • Production;
  • Mobile trucks;
  • And broadcasters.

AJA FS1-X endorses both fiber

and coax 64-Channel MADI

output and input.

An internal 224 x 224 audio matrix accepts complete routing of MADI and all audio coming from:

  • Analog;
  • AES;
  • Fiber;
  • And SDI sources.

For an amazing amount of audio processing ability in a single box.

Amazing Frame Rate Conversion Option*

Matching up and synchronising dissimilar audio and video formats is a crucial part of any:

  • Post-production;
  • Mobile;
  • Or broadcast situation.

Within its small 1RU chassis,

AJA FS1-X incorporates an incredible range of:

  • Audio and video;
  • Connectivity and processing.

Featuring an adaptable architecture,

AJA FS1-X concurrently works with 3G-SDI 10-bit broadcast quality video and incorporates:

  • Analog audio
  • MADI
  • AES,
  • And embedded audio.

Applying AJA’s outstanding conversion algorithms,

AJA FS1-X supports cross,

down and up-conversion between HD and SD signals

for the highest quality output feasible.

Furthermore, the factory installed motion adaptive Frame Rate Converter (FRC) alternative

allows high quality conversions amongst diverse frame rate families

for practically unrestricted international standards support.

*Optional. Factory installation needed at time of order.

Architecture

AJA FS1-X is intended to expand adaptability while delivering a reliable solution

that is engineered to meet the requirements of broadcast engineering.

Dual, redundant power supplies certify that AJA FS1-X stays online

even in the event of a power source malfunction.

CWDM Fiber Options

The possible fiber outputs and inputs allow you to select from numerous wavelength CWDM SFPs,

permitting innovative multiplexing of signals over a single fiber connection.

Feasible CWDM possibilities,

Dual TX:

  • 1591/1611
  • 1551/1571
  • 1511/1531
  • 1471/1491
  • 1431/1451
  • 1391/1411
  • 1351/1371
  • 1311/1331
  • 1271/1291

Remote Configuration And Control

AJA FS units are network ready and support SNMP monitoring

and web-based remote control.

Units can be attached to any Ethernet network via the in-built 10/100/1000 Ethernet port,

permitting control and configuration of multiple AJA FS units

from any web browser on a linked computer.

Configurations can be saved and applied to numerous units,

certifying uniformity and swift configuration in large installs.

Extensive Connectivity

AJA FS1-X is loaded with thorough I/O for converting amongst the broadest array of digital and analog signals.

Ideal for utilisation in all post production and broadcast situations, featuring:

  • HDMI;
  • 3G-SDI outputs and inputs;
  • Thorough multi-channel audio connections;

Endorsing the latest standards and I/O for analog video equipment including:

  • SD;
  • And HD component.

Automation

Numerous functions on the AJA FS1-X can be prompted by outside GPI’s such as:

  • Switching amongst presets;
  • And freezing an input.

Permitting simple assimilation into current systems for unified and precise automation.

Sidebar Keying

AJA FS1-X features a distinctive keyer configuration,

permitting incoming signals to be merged in effective ways.

A popular example is sidebar keying,

where incoming video is converted from HD to SD

but rather than stretching the 4:3 aspect ratio to fit in a 16:9 frame,

a second signal is utilised to fill the sides of the 16:9 frame.

This enables channel identification or other imagery to be placed in that area rather than having black bars on either side.

The robust AFD features of AJA FS1-X confirm that the aspect ratio of the outgoing signal is appropriately recognised for downstream devices.

Industry-Leading Support

AJA’s technical support is known as among the finest in the industry

and is offered to all AJA customers.

If you require help with any aspect of your FS operation, configuration, installation

or encounter any technical issue,

AJA Support will work with you to get back up and running.

AJA FS products are protected by a liberal five year warranty.

Please see the specific Product’s Manual for extra details around warranty requirements for the product itself.
